There's nothing quite like going up to the beeyard on a sunny spring morning to check the hives.  You always want to go when you think the majority of workers will be out gathering nectar, all suited up in your bee gear.  The anticipation as you crack open the first super, wondering how they are doing and the wonderful smell of "live bees", it's something I treasure!!  

I've included photos of the hives throughout the seasons.  This past winter I had a bear go through my yard and now I have to start all over again, including the repair of many of my hives.  It will give me an opportunity to relocate my hives closer to the house, and hopefully not so vulnerable to invasion.  I've left the beeyard empty this year, but I'm looking forward to next spring to begin again!!!
