Quicksilver is a C.K.C. registered kennel,  I am a member of the G.D.C.C. (Great Dane Club of Canada).   As such, I follow their  Code of Ethics and Breeder Guidelines. 

Both the C.K.C. and the G.D.C.C. have excellent websites with alot of specific information about choosing a Great Dane and a breeder (please see my links page).

My goals as a breeder is to raise  Blue Great Danes that have sound minds and bodies..., this is an ongoing process achieved through:

- screening for health related issues, health test info is included for both adults, and pups as they mature.

- training through ongoing socialization (all are members of the family participating in day to day activities)conformation shows, agility, obedience work i.e. character development

-selecting and breeding only the best dogs, with temperment being the 1st consideration, 2nd health and overall soundness, and 3rd conformation.

-pedigree research (if you don't know the history of your lines, i.e. if you don't know where you've been, how do you know where you are going!!!) 


European Great Danes

European Great Danes are very different from their North American counterparts.  Much heavier bone mass and more muscled in general, with less of an emphasis on extreme height.  The FCI Standard for Great Danes is quite different than the Canadian Standard or the American Standard (I have all three on my links page).   

I have chosen a foundation female, L&D Wagner Dog Afra, "Afra" that has an impressive family history.  The El Loco Szfinx Kennel in Hungary has many years of experience in producing national and international champions, and Afra's sire, El Loco Szfinx Azuro titles speak for themselves.  Please click on his name on the pedigrees and you will see a photo of him, and his sire Blau Blick Abbe.   Afra's dam, Blue Devil Capella is also titled and shares an equally impressive ancestry.

Afra is herself now pointed, and has produced from her first litter, Canadian Champion Quicksilver El Loco Blu Angel, "Lucy", and Quicksilver El Loco Blu Arthur, who is also pointed.


Firstedition-B Dei Monti Del Keraton, "Eddy" joined the family late in 2006.  He is from the Del Keraton kennel in Italy and was bred by Carla Carletti.  He too has an impressive family history with many national and international champions in his pedigree.
